Membership Application

Membership Nomination Period

The membership nomination process opens on October 1 and will close for this year at 11:59 PM on November 8. 

We are inviting each member in good standing to nominate up to 3 new members. A current DCBC member in good standing is defined as someone who has paid their membership dues and who has attended a majority of meetings in this calendar year.

Membership Expectations

We are a working group and expect all members to serve on at least one committee and to attend as many events as possible.

 

Please do not nominate anyone who has not agreed to be nominated or is unable to meet the following conditions:

  1. Attend a majority of monthly Caucus meetings (at least 6 per year).

    • Most meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month at 9 AM virtually.

  2. Pay an annual membership fee of $100 due by December 31st.

  3. Must be of African descent.

  4. Can be an Elected Official who represents all or part of Delaware County

  5. Can be a Delaware County resident who is registered to vote.

  6. Must be an active community member engaged in community work.

  7. Must be in good standing with the law.

Application Process

Step 1: Nomination by a member in good standing.

Step 2: Complete the application form with detailed information on community involvement.

Step 3: Video Interview Submission (optional) – Upload a 2-3 minute video answering:

  • What drives your passion for community service?

  • How will you contribute to DCBC’s mission?

  • What do you hope to achieve as a DCBC member?

Step 4: Review by the Membership Committee.

Step 5: Upon approval, complete dues payment and gain access to the members-only portal, events, and directory.

As part of the DCBC Membership Application, applicants are encouraged to submit a 2-3 minute video. In the video, share your passion for community service and why you believe you're a good fit for the Delaware County Black Caucus. Consider answering the following:

  • What drives your dedication to community work?

  • How will you contribute to DCBC's mission?

  • What impact do you hope to make as a member?

The video gives the Membership Committee insight into your values, commitment, and vision.
